2026 Predictions

Hello blog readers! Every year I write a bunch of predictions for the year to come, and have people vote on whether or not they believe they will come true. Do I actually think everything I write will happen? Not even a little bit.

This all started back in 2021 when I saw a bunch of people posting videos on Tiktok containing their predictions for the coming year. I decided to assemble the most common ones into a survey, communicating that they were not my own ideas, and posted it on Instagram. As the years went on and I deleted Tiktok, I had to come up with my own ideas. The predictions are mostly related to pop culture, and can be quite random. This year, I scoured the internet to see what other people predicted would happen in 2025. It helped me find inspiration for me to come up with my own ideas.

Overall, the predictions have a terrible track record for coming true, although I have gotten some right such as Harry Styles' spitting scandal and Queen Elizabeth II's death. There are a few predictions that have come true, but not that year, such as the global pineapple shortage and JLo and Ben Affleck's divorce. For 2022, I predicted that Nick Cannon would have three more children that year, but I was off by two kids... by which I mean he fathered five babies born in the 2022 calendar year.

I also have certain predictions that may not have happened in the past few years, but I still think are bound to come true. I don't repeat them each year, as I don't want my survey to be overly repetitive, but the one I believe in most is "Ed Sheeran does a movie cameo that involves [partial] nudity." Additionally I keep predicting the deaths of Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews, and they keep living, probably to spite me.

Now I will go through this year's predictions and tell you how likely I believe each one is to happen, and how much I would want it to happen.

1. Major American landmark collapses

   • Likelihood: 3/10

   • Want: 5/10

   • Mount Rushmore feels unnecessary

2. Hailey Bieber finally files for divorce

   • Likelihood: 3/10

   • Want: 9/10

   • This was accidentally a repeat from a few years ago, but I still think it should happen

3. Tech billionaire gets arrested but not convicted

   • Likelihood: 6/10

   • Want: ?/10

   • I want an arrest and conviction

4. A Toronto play gets sued after audience participation goes horribly wrong

   • Likelihood: 2/10

   • Want: 9/10

   • Obviously, I don't want anyone to get hurt, but audience participation is my biggest fear in the world, and I would love something to use as an example of why I refuse to participate

5. Olivia Rodrigo releases her third album and the name is another four-letter word

   • Likelihood: 9/10

   • Want: 10/10

   • I'm a huge fan

6. Justin Trudeau nudes leak

   • Likelihood: 3/10

   • Want: 1/10

   • He's moved from politician to celebrity, so I could see this happening

7. Miss Piggy is featured on a major publication's 'Woman of the Year' list

   • Likelihood: 8/10

   • Want: 10/10

   • If anyone deserves it, it's her

8. A prequel Wicked film (which is already a prequel) is announced

   • Likelihood: 3/10

   • Want: 2/10

   • I feel like I'm all Wicked-ed out for the time being, but I do know that the author of the Wicked books announced a Glinda prequel, and Ariana Grande totally slayed the role

9. Kanye West announces he's converting to Judaism

   • Likelihood: 5/10

   • Want: 1/10

   • I could see either this, or he claims to already be Jewish

10. The pope goes viral at a White Sox game

    • Likelihood: 7/10

    • Want: 10/10

    • Why not?

11. Julia Roberts gets injured in a glass blowing incident

    • Likelihood: 1/10

    • Want: 1/10

    • Again, I don't want anyone to get hurt

12. Jojo Siwa adopts a baby for clout

    • Likelihood: 3/10

    • Want: 1/10

    • I don't think she needs this right now, but also, I don't really care

13. Prince Harry attempts a music career

    • Likelihood: 1/10

    • Want: 5/10

    • I think he would make some truly tearable rap music

14. Trump threatens aliens during a press conference 

    • Likelihood: 6/10

    • Want: ?/10

    • I'm just trying to predict the ramblings of the world's dumbest lunatic

15. The live action Moana flops in the box office

    • Likelihood: 4/10

    • Want: 10/10

    • No more live action remakes!

16. A new High School Musical movie is announced, but none of the original main actors return

    • Likelihood: 4/10

    • Want: 1/10

    • What I would like to see is another Sharpay movie, and I think she would still be with Austin Butler's character

17. The worm in RFK Jr.'s brain finally kills him

    • Likelihood: ?/10

    • Want: 10/10

    • I don't really know enough about brain worms to know if this is possible

18. The fifth Avengers movie will make less than half of what Avengers 4 made in the box office 

    • Likelihood: 7/10

    • Want: ?/10

    • I don't really care how much cash an Avengers movie can bring in

19. Olivia Chow will fall while trying to kick a soccer ball during FIFA 2026

    • Likelihood: 8/10

    • Want: 10/10

    • I feel like this is a vision from the future

20. A musical based on the 2003 Tommy Wiseau film The Room opens Off-Broadway

    • Likelihood: 2/10

    • Want: 10/10

    • Recently, all I've been thinking about is The Room which will probably be a blog post of its own, but I would love to see the real musical written from the character Chris-R's perspective
